Write a software engineer resume around evidence, not inventories.

A software engineer resume should name the target engineering role, summarize the candidate’s relevant scope and present technical skills that are supported by recent work. Each experience entry should keep the job title, employer, location and dates together, followed by concise bullets. Strong bullets describe a real engineering action and its effect: reliability improved, delivery time decreased, system capacity increased, incidents declined or teams adopted a new platform. Metrics are valuable when they are truthful and explain scale, but invented percentages weaken credibility. Technical keywords belong in both a dedicated skills section and the work evidence where they were actually used. Education and relevant certifications can follow the experience section. The final document should remain readable when copied to plain text and should be tailored to one genuine job description.
